Welcome to the Manchester Enterprise Group newsletter, brought to you by our copywriting agency, Making You Content.
Calvin Husbands took the chairman’s seat for our first meeting of October, with William Seabrook visiting London to conduct interviews for his architectural brand ambassador business, Partisan.
Member news from the week included the hugely successful IP-EX birthday celebrations – which took place at 20 Stories and included a presentation from Manchester Cares’ MEG rep Alex Khanyaghma. The evening proved to be a great triumph for both IP-EX and Manchester Cares – and it was “achievement” that emerged as the theme of the morning, spearheaded by Stu Holliday’s Thought of the Day.
All the highlights are listed below, but before we dive in, we’d also like to thank founder and CEO of Digital State Group, Greg Cooper, for coming down and playing a vocal role in our round-the-table as a MEG guest. Hope to see you back soon, Greg!
The Theme: What Lies Behind Achievement?
Did you know you can achieve everything you want? That’s what our performance psychologist Stuart Holliday assured us during our last MEG get-together – claiming greatness is available to everyone.
We discover what we really want from life as we grow older, and we can achieve these desired outcomes through two means: learning and self-determination.
Given how mental fatigue can be more tiring than physical exercise, it’s crucial to take care of our minds by building and following a strategy. Through a willingness to learn and honest reflection, we can take ownership of our fate, gain control, and determine our most probable path to success.
Stu reminded the group to keep working on mastering the internal monologue – whatever endeavours lie ahead.
If you’d like to be among the guests at the next MEG, you can book your spot by visiting our Eventbrite page.
The Speaker: Damian Cox, Into Productions
Every week, a MEG member gets the opportunity to showcase their brand by hosting a ten-minute presentation.
Damian Cox treated us to a taste of Into Production’s colourful portfolio in our most recent meeting, taking us behind the scenes of a shoot the company did for dermal filler beauty business Revolax.
Into’s diversity was on display throughout Damian’s talk, with the production expert also offering us a glimpse of a promotional video for Fi and Becs Design & Marketing (a creative agency based in Halifax) and coverage of the NCS Salford and Trafford development programmes.
Thanks to Damian for a great presentation.
See you all next week!
We like to share details of local events that might involve, or be useful to, our networking group. In this section, you can discover more about the best business meetings in Manchester and find out where our members are in action outside MEG.
